POTD: Prairie Dog at Custer State Park

Shot in June 2017 this prairie dog was peaking out of his hole in Custer State Park, South Dakota.

Prairie dogs are herbivorous burrowing rodents native to the grasslands of North America. The five species are: black-tailed, white-tailed, Gunnison’s, Utah, and Mexican prairie dogs.Wikipedia
