Scorpion weed, Phacelia hastata

This is one of my favorite little plants at Craters of the Moon National Monument in Idaho, Scorpion weed- Phacelia hastata var. hastata. There are 4 varieties of phacelia but I think this one is silver leaf scorpion weed.

This plant is often found in and around the cinder cones at Craters. It’s a member of the in the borage family, Boraginaceae, also known as the forget-me-not family.
